  1.                    ORIGINAL TOLL HOUSE COOKIES

  4. 2-1/4 c. flour
  5. 1 t. baking soda
  6. 1 t. salt
  7. 1 c. softened butter
  8. 3/4 c. sugar
  9. 3/4 c. brown sugar
  10.  
  11.  
  12. 1 t. vanilla
  13. 1/2 t. water
  14. 2 eggs
  15. 12 oz. chocolate chips
  16. 1 c. chopped nutsCream butter, sugars, vanilla and water.  Add eggs, then dry
  17. ingredients.  Stir in chips and nuts.  Drop onto greased cookie
  18. sheets.  Bake at 375 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.

  20. Variations:  (1)  Omit nuts and add 4 cups crisp cereal.  (2) 
  21. Add 2 cups chopped dates.  (3)  Add 1 tablespoon grated orange
  22. rind.  (4)  Add two cups raisins.  95)  Add 1 cup peanut butter.
